  1. Example of a good resume:

    http://www.esampleresume.com/Accounts%20Payable%20Clerk.htm

This sample resume clearly illustrates the applicants' worth to the employer. Also the order in which the experience and education are listed is reverse chronological order and shows the more relevant, recent work (or education if a recent graduate) experience towards the top of the page.

    Example of a bad resume:

    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

For this sample resume the job seeker used an almost illegible font for her name and contact information; you do not want a potential employer to have to struggle to read this information. She did not clearly state what she had to offer the potential employer. She also listed her education before her work experience even though she had graduated over 5 years earlier. Another example of what makes this a bad resume is that she listed her hobbies on her resume which made it look unprofessional and detracted from her prior work experience & education.

  2. Example of good resume
    http://www.bestsampleresume.com/sample-accounting-resume/sample-accounting-resume-1.html

This resume was formatted in order that allowed for easy top/down viewing. Qualifications was at the top. This is important for the hiring individual to grasp how qualified the applicant is. The elimination of hobbies is evident. The applicant chose to further market abilities by using a skills section. This resume also shows how to use actual important facts of performance to help market the applicant.

the following is an example of a bad resume
    https://acs.learn.com/files/upload/rotator_staging/web/ExampleofIneffectiveResumeStructure.html

the resume did not use good line spacing. Very difficult to read. Use of bullets would have separated important information. The applicant did not provide enough personal contact information. The applicant did not market proficiencies. Poor wording throughout the resume. There was no chronological order of this resume with respect to time line. This resume also include personal information.

  3. A good resume example:
    http://www.resume-help.org/student_resume_example.htm

This resume is properly formatted and a good example of a resume. The order of information is clear and concise. The information can also be found quickly and easily. Personal information is neat and at the top of the page with the qualifications in an order that is efficient.

    A bad resume example:
    http://www.resumes-cover-letters-jobs.com/resume-draft.html

When you open this page you can scroll down to see the resume and you can also open the resume up to see it more clearly. This is an example of a poorly formatted resume. The writer used unnecessary tabs and spaces that make the resume look unorganized. An employer will not want to hunt for your information and an unorganized resume will stand out and not get you that interview.

  4. Example of a good resume

    http://www.distinctiveweb.com/example-projects/sample-resumes/administrative-resume-sample/

This is an example of a good resume. This resume shows the qualifications the person possesses to be a valuable employee to the company. It is formatted so it is easy to understand and does not include any background shading that would make it hard to scan. Also because the person held jobs with gaps between them, this form of resume allowed her to cover up those gaps that might have raised some red flags with the employer.

This is an example of a bad resume

    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

This is an example of a bad resume. A bad resume may contain a font that is hard to read, do not place your education before your work experience. List your most recent work experience first and work your way down to your education. One important thing this resume does not do is provide qualitative and quantitative data for the employer to reference.

  5. Good Resume:
    http://www.resume-resource.com/Examples/resume-example-healthcare-nurse2.gif

This is an example of a good resume. The applicant has neatly and efficiently used the space provided. He gives great detail of his past experience and qualifications without going off topic. This resume really gives you a feel for the applicant and his experience seems relevant and up to date. The flow of the resume is very well put together and easy to read.

    Bad Resume:
    http://www.bradleycvs.co.uk/images/examples-of-good-and-bad-cvs.gif

This is an example of a bad resume. The applicant uses a font that doesn’t look professional. She provides a profile with personal and irrelevant information. She doesn’t stay on topic and she gives no relevant experience. She provides the employer with grades from classes which is unprofessional and looks ridiculous. No employer would take this resume seriously.

  6. The following link is to an example of a bad resume:
    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

This resume is considered back for several reasons. The font size is large and overbearing. The information on a resume should lead with up to date information first. Employers don't need to know about your hobbies but rather, they want to know about your skills and qualifications. An unorgazied and difficult to read resume, will quickly end up in the "other" pile. What some over look is a complete contact information section of a resume. Be sure to include a number, a full and not abbrevated street address and your full name.

The following link is to an example of a good resume

    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerTools/Resume_GoodExample.aspx

A good resume is well organized, specific to the job offer, a profile is recommended because they show what you offer the company and not what the couple offers you. Most importantly, a full contact section is complete with a full name, spelled out street address and an appropriate email address.

  7. This is an example of a good resume:

    http://www.jobweb.org/Resume/sample.aspx?id=2309

This resume is very neat and organized. It shows the person has a lot of experience which they have organized using bullets. Their email address is not quirky (such as partyguy10@yahoo.com) and it doesn’t include irrelevant information such as favorite foods or hobbies.

An example of a bad resume can be found at:

    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

The first thing that is noticeable in this resume is that the font is too fancy. Secondly, she didn’t do a good job describing what she has done for the companies that she has worked for. Finally, there is irrelevant information. No employer cares that a person likes playing with their cats.

  8. Good Resume:

    http://jobsearch.about.com/od/sampleresumes/l/blresume7.htm

This is an example of a good resume, first because it is job specific. It relates directly to the position that the person is looking for and does not supply the employer with irrelevant experience. Also, the information is clearly outlined in reverse chronological order listing the most recent first and the applicant has used bold to highlight the the specific positions that he has held.

    Bad Resume:

    http://www.quintcareers.com/scannable_resume_sample.html

The first thing that makes this a bad resume is that it is all written in the same font, as it is a simple font, which can be good, there is nothing that jumps out from the page that will catch a reader's eye. Also, there is no actual employment history listed that would show a pattern in work history or references.

  9. Bad Resume
    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

This resume is considered bad because personal information like hobbies should not be included because employers would like to know about organizations the applicant has been a member of, and what awards they have accomplished. Also it is professional to put experience first (if not in school) because it shows the applicant has graduated, and is now willing to work full time. Also employers are looking at quantitative experience versus qualitative because cases are that if a employee is there long term, they had to be doing something right. Using legible font is also important, because if a employer is having the least bit trouble reading a resume, they probably will not finish reading it and making a decision on whether that person is a good candidate or not.

    Good Resume
    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerTools/Resume_GoodExample.aspx

Having a good resume requires it to have something that makes it jump off the page saying “HIRE ME!” Even though it still has the usual, credentials, experience etc, it has uniqueness about it. Also a good resume contains a list of accomplished duties, rather than a list of obvious tasks that are done at that job site.

  10. http://www.exampleresumes.org/occupational/sales-retail.html
This is an example of a good resume. The font is neat and bullets are used properly. Employment history is well detailed, and dates are formatted properly.

    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

This is an example of a bad resume. The font is not professional and probably should not be used on a resume. The person should not list there education on the top of the resume, since the person is not a recent grad. Also the work experience is very similar to a couple jobs and is not detailed.

  11. http://www.careerbuilder.com/Article/CB-678-Cover-Letters-and-Resumes-Basic-Skills-Resume/

Here is an example of a good resume, it is a simple to the point resume, that details your skills and what abilities you would bring to the company if hired.

    http://www.job-interview-questions.org/example-bad-resume

This was the worst resume I had seen, it was just too short and had little to no information also:
    * There were no capital letters where appropriate
    * Under education it just said High school well what years, did you graduate?
    * Don't put a reference if you don't have any contact information
    * If your flipping burgers and making fries do not apply for a management position, what could you possibly bring to the company that would benifit them?
When writing a resume the employer wants to know within the first few lines who you are and what you will bring to the company, if you will be a good asset if you can't say that in the time it takes to read 4-5 lines then your resume will probably be thrown out

  12. Example of a bad resume:
    http://www.job-application-and-interview-advice.com/free-cv-example.html

This resume shows poor organization, misspelled words, missing information in the address, and poor and inconsistent formatting. It also has no objective listed.

    Example of a good resume:
    http://www.resume.info/sample-example-resumes/ENTRY-LEVEL-ENGINEERING-RESUME.pdf

This resume is clean and easy to read. All personal contact information is listed. Work experience (although only 1) is listed. Strengths and specialized areas of training are noted to help stand out from others

  13. Here is an example of a good resume. The job seeker clearly states their objective and has included all other pertinent information is an order that is sensible. Since this is a chronological resume, the dates are correctly portrayed from most recent to oldest. Key achievements are mentioned but are enhanced with the results each yielded. By noting these actual savings or actual profits you are giving the employer a very specific look into what exactly you bring to the table.

    http://susanireland.com/resume-examples/executive-management/vice-president-of-marketing/

Here we see an example of a very badly done resume. Excuse the site title but it’s a good fit. Although the information is all there and the individual seems well accomplished, the overly formatted and overuse of colored text is very distracting. At a quick glance an employer is not likely to even read this resume because they would just get dizzy. The excessive use of blue, red and italicized fonts are way over the top….not to mention the name is barely legible due to the scripted font. John (something or other) will not likely get a call for an interview anytime soon.

  14. good sample-http://www.damngood.com/catalog/exmpl/student-2.html
This sample is good because she focused on her positive attributes and sold her resume the right way.

    bad sample-http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx
This sample is bad because she used an italic font for the title and she made her resume to 'me' formatted

  15. Good Resume
    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerTools/Resume_GoodExample.aspx

This is a good resume. It is clean and clear to read. It is separated and lists the achievements for each job chronologically. It also lists the professional associations instead of hobbies.

    Bad Resume
    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerCenter/ResumeBad.aspx

This is a bad resume for a few reasons. First the author writes her name and contact information in an illegible font that is challenging to see. Next, the author just lists the information and lastly the author leads with her education even though it happened over 11 years ago.

  16. Example of a good resume:
    http://www.nelsonjobs.com/CareerTools/Resume_GoodExample.aspx

This resume was the best one I have found it presents all qualifications and expertise. She lists all of her achievements and also an extensive background in customer service work. This resume would impress any manager at their first glance.

    Example of a bad resume:
    http://www.bradleycvs.co.uk/cvservice/examples-of-good-and-bad-cvs.asp

In this resume she waits until the end to talk about her past experience. That is a crucial mistake, also achievements is not placed in the appropriate order. She also used the bullets in the wrong places.

    Example of Bad Resume:
Make sure your contact information is correct on your resume. If they are interested in contacting you for the opportunity not having the correct information will not allow for the notification and also prove to the company that you are not thorough with important tasks at hand.

  18. Example of a good resume:
    http://jobsearch.about.com/library/samples/blretailresume.htm

This example shows how to put together a chronological resume. This resume was set up nicely showing the job history first starting with the most recent job. This lets the person looking at the resume know how long you've held a job for. This resume is set up perfectly and flows smoothly.

    Example of a bad resume:
    http://www.job-interview-questions.org/example-bad-resume

This example was horrible. The person abbreviated too many things. He didn't put much description in his job history and he didn't fill out the resume all the way. It is very unorganzied and looks very unprofessional.

This example is clear and concise. It is kept to one page and expresses the applicants achievements, strengths, and experience.

This example is all over the place. They use different fonts and are not professional. It is difficult to understand what is going on in this resume.
